To enable live trading in VEMA Trader, application programming interface (API) keys must be added to your account.
Note: VEMA support will never ask for your API keys. These give access to your account and should never be shared outside of the VEMA Trader API key screen.
An API key is like a digital fingerprint.
It allows different software programs - in this case VEMA Trader and an exchange such as OKX to communicate and interact.
The user creates an API key on the exchange, receiving a unique string of characters that the exchange can then use to identify that account. The user also receives a "Secret key" - similar to a password. In future interactions the exchange uses the API key to identify the user, and the secret key to ensure the contacting software has sufficient permission to give instructions to the exchange.
