Balance showing as $00.00
Balance showing as $******
Step 1) Creating your Sub Account
Login to Binance. If you don't have a Binance account yet, you can sign up here.
Once logged in proceed to the Sub Accounts page, which you can reach by clicking the profile icon in the top right, then selecting Sub Accounts.
Note: If you do not have two methods of Two-Factor Authentication set up on Binance, go to Security (Green box in below image) and enable two methods as you'll need these later.
Click the "+Create Sub Account" button on the right
Set the Sub Account type to "Create with email", then enter an email address and password for your Sub Account.
Note: Binance won't accept the same email used for creating your Main Account here, if used it lets you through this step but then never sends the code needed on the next page.
Once you've input your 2FA codes, you'll see your sub-account added successfully, nice work!
Your Sub Account will be created with no permissions.
To Enable Switching so that you can use the account to trade, click the three dots on the right hand side of your relevant Sub Account, then clock "Enable Switch".
You should see the "Switchable" Column switch from a Red Cross to a Green Check mark.
Step 2) Funding your Sub Account
Click on the Sub Account menu again, then select "Transfer In"
Next, ensure your "Transfer From" is set to the account where your funds are (Both Account and Margin Type) and then select your Sub Account and "Spot" for the "Transfer To" section.
Then simply transfer the amount you'd like to have access to in your VEMA Trading account.
Note: Currently VEMA Spot is only designed for USDT to COIN then back to USDT trades. For this reason you must have adequate USDT in your Spot account to enter trades within VEMA. When calculating position sizing, VEMA will consider all assets in your linked Sub Accounts Spot Wallet. We strongly advise not keeping any assets not considered a part of your trading account here, otherwise their value will be affect risk calculations.
Step 3) Creating your API Keys
Return to the profile menu by selecting the profile icon.
Make sure you are logged into your Sub Account (Current account is shown at the top of the menu). If not, Select Switch Account from the menu shown.
Once logged into the correct account, select API management in the left menu (found under the "Account" heading) then click "Create API"
Select "System Generated" from the pop-up.
Then give your Sub Account a name and enter the 2FA details.
Once given your keys, select "Edit Restrictions" on the right of the page for your relevant API keys.
Then select "Restrict access to trusted IP's only", then add the following IP addresses to the field, separated by a space.
Once done, click the "Enable Spot & Margin Trading" then copy your API key and Secret Key directly into VEMA (as explained below) and hit "Save", then input your 2FA codes again.
Step 4) Adding your API keys to VEMA Trader
Login to VEMA Trader, then head to my account:
Select "Trading Accounts" and ensure your exchange is set to Binance.
Give your account a name (personally I use the sub-account name to make things easier but it doesn't have to be) and then return to Binance.
Copy and paste the API key and Secret Key into the relevant fields on VEMA Trader, then click "+Add Key"
You should then receive a success toast telling you the API key add was successful! After a minute or two your balance should appear in the wallet and you can begin live trading.
If you receive an error toast, or your balance does not show, see the troubleshooting steps below.
Troubleshooting:
Balance showing in VEMA as $00.00
This means you have successfully added the API key, VEMA has picked up the balance, and there are zero funds in the correct account.
Common causes here are funds in the wrong sub-account or main account, or funds in the wrong section of the correct sub-account such as being in the Margin account.
Return to Step 2 and make sure your funds are in the Spot section of the Correct Sub-Account.
Balance showing as $******
This occurs when you have streaming mode enabled, which protects you by hiding all balances and showing asterixis instead. Note you can trade normally still provided your balance is non-zero, VEMA still knows your balance and calculates position size accordingly.
To turn streaming mode off head to "My account" > "Customisation" then click disable streaming mode and save:
